
About Dr. Michael Corey
Board Certified Vascular Surgeon
Dr. Michael Corey, MD, FACS, RPVI was born and raised in a suburb of Boston, MA. He is the son of a general and vascular surgeon.
He graduated cum laude with a degree in chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He then attended Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA where he solidified his interest in surgery. He completed a general surgery residency and vascular surgery research fellowship at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN, and was the recipient of the Harwell Wilson Award in surgical excellence. Dr. Corey returned to Boston to complete fellowship training in vascular and endovascular surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in both general and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a diplomate of The Society of Vascular Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the former founder and co-director of the Comprehensive Aortic Program at Wellstar Health System in metro Atlanta.
Dr. Corey has worked as a vascular surgeon in private practice since 2016 and continues to provide compassionate, expert care specializing in complex aortic surgery, carotid artery disease, and peripheral arterial disease and limb preservation. He offers comprehensive care for hemodialysis access, including fistula creation and maintenance, and treats varicose vein disease as well. Dr. Corey is deeply motivated by his late father’s work, which instilled in him the importance of prioritizing the patient and providing exemplary care to those in need.
Dr. Corey has consistently been voted a “Top Doctor” by his peers in prominent publications including Atlanta Magazine, Castle Connolly, and Georgia Trend Magazine.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, going to the beach, and playing tennis.
