About Dr. Ravi V. Patel
Board Certified Nephrologist
Dr. Patel is a board-certified nephrologist with specialized expertise in interventional nephrology, providing advanced care for patients with kidney disease and dialysis access needs.
Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India, before completing his internship at Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Carle Foundation Hospital, affiliated with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, followed by a Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.
Prior to joining Vascular & Vein Institute of the South, Dr. Patel served as a nephrologist with Delta Kidney Alliance in Greenville, Mississippi. He also held the role of Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where he combined patient care with the education and mentorship of future physicians.
Dr. Patel is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He has also earned certification through the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN) in both hemodialysis vascular access and peritoneal dialysis access.
His clinical interests include the comprehensive management of patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease, with a particular focus on preserving and maintaining dialysis access. Dr. Patel is highly skilled in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, tunneled and temporary dialysis catheter placement, percutaneous arteriovenous fistula interventions, and percutaneous peritoneal dialysis catheter interventions.
Dr. Patel is passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and believes that maintaining reliable dialysis access is essential to improving quality of life for individuals living with kidney disease. He is committed to working collaboratively with patients and referring providers to deliver the highest standard of vascular access care.
